Copyright Statement
The Fisk University John Hope and Aurelia E. Franklin Library reasonably believes that the items made available in our digital collections are not restricted by copyright or related rights. However, these materials are publicly accessible, and some restrictions on further use may still apply. Permitted uses for those items are limited to research, educational, and scholarly purposes under U.S. Copyright Law Title 17, §108 U.S.C.
Beyond educational use, permission is required to publish these materials. To request permission, please contact archives@fisk.edu.

Takedown Requests
A takedown policy is in place for content in our digital collections, including documents and images related to BIPOC communities. All takedown requests will be reviewed by the Dean of Library Services, the Assistant Director, and University Legal Counsel if necessary.
The John Hope and Aurelia E. Franklin Library makes every effort to adhere to all known copyright, privacy, publicity, and trademark rights of the materials in its digital collections. If you believe your rights have been violated, please contact us with the following information:
- Your contact information (name, email address, and phone)
- Exact URL of the material in question
- Details describing the material (title, collection name, item count, date, etc.)
- A clear explanation of your concern, including documentation as needed
- If copyright-related, proof that you are the rights holder or an authorized representative

Review Process & Actions
Once a request is received, the Digital Library team will acknowledge its receipt, assess the validity of the claim, and respond accordingly. Possible actions include:
- The material remains unchanged online
- The material is temporarily blocked or removed, then restored later
- The material is blocked or removed, and restored later with changes
- The material is permanently removed
