This pictures was taken in April 1929 - 15 years after it was built. It was said to be the first rural school in the county. Now, schools much better are being abandoned for new, modern Rosenwald Schools, each year. It was remodeled in 1934-35. Enlarged from Kodak picture. Taken by S. L. Smith in April 1929. Dedicated by Booker T. Washington and State Supt. Feagan in June 1914. The first 6 State Agents of Negro Ed. in the So. were present as guests at the Dedication: Jackson Davis, Va.; F. C. Button, Ky.; Jos. L. Sibley, ALa.; Leo M. Favrot, Ark.; N.C. Newhold, N.C.; and S.L. Smith, Tenn.".

Boynton Negro School and Boynton White School in Palm Beach County, Florida

Photos of Boynton Negro School and Boynton White School in Palm Beach County, Florida. First note says, "Boynton Negro School, Palm Beach County, Fla. Although every building close by was either totally destroyed or badly damaged, the negro school was unharmed, and served as a place of solity for hundreds of people during the storm, saving many lives." Second note says, "Boynton White School. Located a short distance from the Negro school. Although built of hallow tile and stucco reinforced concrete etc., it was practically ruined." Third note says, "The only Rosenwald School in County. This school was built two years ago according to our community. School Plan No. 3-B, which requires heavy framing, storm sheathing, and sub-floor put on diagonally and nailed at each hearing, making it storm proof. It is the only school in the county, white or colored which was not damaged . Note that how all the tries were left westward.".
