Fellowship Application, Marcus Bartlett, 1937-1941
-
Description
-
Correspondence between Marcus Bartlett of Atlantas WSB radio station and Julius Rosenwald Fund staff, including J.C. Dixon and George M. Reynolds, concerning a 1,100 dollars fellowship awarded to him in 1939 to study radio in education. The letters document the multiple postponements and eventual relinquishment of the grant by Bartlett in 1941, due to a change in management at his radio station and a promotion to Production Manager. The file also contains his application, plan of work, academic transcript from Emory University, and strong letters of reference from Lambdin Kay, General Manager of WSB, and Raymond B. Nixon of Emory University.
