A letter sent to the Fellowship Committee from the Committee H.R. on March 13, 1948 regarding the Rosenwald Fellowships for 1948. The H.R. highlighted the number of fellowship applicants from 1940 through 1948, and 376 Negro and 104 White Southerner candidates applied in 1948. Members on the Art jury for 1948 were Mrs. Katherine Kuh, Mr. Max Kahn, and Mr. Jacob Lawrence, on the Music jury were Mr. William Grant Still, Mr. Bernard Taylor, and Mr. Alton Jones; on the Literary jury were Mr. Bucklin Moon, Mr. James Grey, and Mr. Arna Bontemps; on the Photography jury was Mr. Roy Stryker. Also included is a letter sent to the Fellowship Committee from Ms. Dorothy A. Elvidge on March 10 relaying that there were 3 possible lapses with the following, Mrs. Pearl L. Byrd Larsen, Mr. Lloyd P. Williams, and Mr. Mark Hanna Watkins.
