Jeffries, Mr. Jasper Conklin Sykes, Mr. William Edward Byrd, Ms. Yvonne Aurelia Jackson, Mr. Edward Earle Wells, Ms. Elizabeth Carolyn Kennedy, Mr. George Heuch Butcher, Mr. Ullmont Lenhardt James, Ms. Hazel Marie Ayres, Ms. Jane Cleo Marshall, Ms. Elizabeth Peace Mitcham, Ms. Grace Margaret Doyle, Ms. Mary Jennelsie Walden, Mr. Thomas Nathaniel Burbridge, Mr. Ratio C. Jones, and Mr. Jean Cunningham Warren. Mr. Weaver also recommended Mr. Waters Edward Turpin for a fellowship award in Creative Writing.
