An application from Liston Pope for a fellowship in Sociology. Mr. Pope was a Gilbert L. Stark Professor of Social Ethics for Yale University at the time of this application. His plan of work was to do first hand observation and study, in the Union of South Africa, Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia, and Nyasaland, of the interplay of racial patterns with economic practices and problems, political forms, ideological systems, religious ideas and institutions, etc. The grant was sought from February 1949 through August 1949 . Also included is document where Mr. Pope listed the extracurricular activities hae had been involved in from 1944 through 1947 and the publications he had made from 1942 through 1947.
