An application from Nelson Sophia Phillips for a fellowship in Language and Literature. Mr. Phillips was an Assistant professor of English for West Virginia State College at the time of this application. His plan of work was to make an analytic survey of those publications and dissertations of 1936 to 1948 which deal with Shelley. The grant was sought from September 1948 through September 1949 . The training in English would be done under the supervision of Dr. W. George Crouch at the University of Pittsburgh.
