An application from Bartram Galbraith Leiper, Jr. for a fellowship in Creative Writing. Mr. Leiper was a Graduate student and Teaching assistant in U.S. History for General College at the time of this application. His plan of work was to write a novel on a story of a small Tennessee town and the attempts of its people to erect a Memorial to those who died in World War II. The grant was sought from June 1948 through June 1949 .
