An application from Ernest Walter Hooper for a fellowship in History. Ms. Hooper was a History tutor for LeMoyne College at the time of this application. Her plan of work was to do 1 year of graduate study at the University of North Carolina emphasis on the extension of civil rights to the Negro in preparation for a Doctorate in American History. The grant was sought from September 1948 through September 1949 . The training in History would be done under the supervision of either Professor Beale or Professor Newsome at the University of North Carolina.
