An application from William James Cousins for a fellowship in Sociology. Mr. Cousins was a Graduate student in Sociology at Yale University at the time of this application. His plan of work was to study the Negro White contact in New Haven through use of stratified sample of 100 households from the Negro community. The grant was sought from June 1948 through June 1949 . The training in Sociology would be done under the supervision of Maurice R. Davie at Yale University.
