An application from Claude Flynn Howell for a fellowship in Art Painting. Mr. Howell was a Stereographer in Freight Traffic Department for the Atlantic Coast Line RR at the time of this application. His plan of work was to gather materials along the Atlantic Coast, to be worked up later into canvasses. The grant was needed as soon as possible . Also included is a document where Mr. Howell listed the exhibits he had been involved in from 1937 through 1947.
