Description
An application from Lloyd Pyron Williams for a fellowship in Education. Mr. Williams was a Part time instructor for the Department of the History and Philosophy of Education, University of Texas at the time of this application. His plan of work was to study Philosophy and Educational Philosophy at Columbia University and/or New York University, and to study the significance of a democratic philosophy of education for the bi racial South and to complete a dissertation Freedom and Authority in the Educational Philosophy of John Dewey. The grant was sought from September 1947 through June 1948 . The training in Education and Philosophy would be done under the supervision of the Departments of Education and Philosophy at New York University and/or Columbia University.
