An application from Thomas Sancton for a fellowship in Creative Writing. Mr. Sancton was a Freelance writer and researcher and a Part time editor of the County Weekly at the time of this application. His plan of work was to complete a study of Southern culture and the influence of Southern patterns upon the nation, and to continue a 3 volume novel that would deal with the social and psychological components of Southern life in the period betwen the 2 World Wars. The grant was sought from March 1947 through March 1948 .
