An application from Ulysses Simpson Kay for a fellowship in Music Composition. Mr. Kay was a Student at Columbia University at the time of this application. His plan of work was to compose a string quartet and a concerto for orchestra, and to further prepare to teach by additional study at Columbia University. The grant was sought from June 1946 through June 1947 . The training in Music would be done under the supervision of Professor Douglas Moore at Columbia University.
