An application from Blyden Jackson for a fellowship in Language and Literature. Mr. Jackson was an Assistant professor of English and the Director of the Writing Laboratory for Fisk University at the time of this application. His plan of work was to do a critical study of James Weldon Johnson and his period. The grant was sought from the academic year 1947 48 . The training in English would be done under the supervision of Dr. Joe Lee Davis at the University of Michigan.
