An application from Charles Detyens Farris for a fellowship in Political Science. Mr. Chandler was a Graduate student and fellow in Political Science at the University of Chicago at the time of this application. His plan of work was to describe and analyze certain aspects of electoral behavior in a Southern metropolitan area Jacksonville, Fla. through 1939 and 1941 with the use of census data, registration lists, election returns, interviews and newspaper files. The grant was sought from September 1947 through September 1948 . The training in Political Science would be done under the supervision of Mr. Avery Leiserson at the University of Chicago.
