An application from Edward Flud Burrows for a fellowship in History. Mr. Burrows was a Research fellow for the Social Science Institute, Fisk University at the time of this application. His plan of work was to study the development of inter racial committees as a phase of the social history of the South emphasis on the type of membership, the relationship of committees to other historical events, and the part played by the committee in community life based on materials on file at Fisk University and with the Southern Regional Council. The grant was sought from September 1947 through September 1948 . The training in History would be done under the supervision of Dr. Merle Curti at the University of Wisconsin.
