Description
An application from Elizabeth Head Vaughan for a fellowship in Sociology. Mrs. Vaughen was a Graduate student at the University of North Carolina at the time of this application. His plan of work was to analyze a specific instance when interracial and general intercultural work together throughout a crisis and show that race prejudice may diminish almost to the vanishing point in a mixed group dependent for survival on its own inner resources. The grant was sought from June 1946 through June 1947 . The training in Sociology would be done under the supervision of Dr. Howard W. Odum at the University of North Carolina.
