An application from Wilmoth Annette Carter for a fellowship in Sociology. Ms. Carter was a Graduate assistant in Sociology for Atlanta University at the time of this application. Her plan of work was an analysis of the structure of the main streets of Metropolitan areas of the South in relation to folk patterns, systems of organization, and social relationships. The grant was sought from September 1946 through September 1947 . The training in Sociology would be done under the supervision of Drs. Lynd and Merton at Columbia University, N.Y.C.
