An application from Dorothy Gwendolyn Williams for a fellowship in Library Science. Her plan of work was to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Library Science at the University of Chicago and to formulate the contribution which library service may make toward a dynamic total program of adult education for Negroes in the South. The grant was sought from August 1945 through August 1946 . The training would be done under the supervision of Dr. Leon Carnovsky at the Graduate Library School of the University of Chicago. Also included is Ms. Williams breakdown of her budget estimate.
