An application from Elsie Mae Lewis for a fellowship in Southern History. Ms. Lewis was a Graduate student at the time of this application. Her plan of work was to present a critical analysis of the Political History of Arkansas, 18501860, an analysis of the Populist Movement in Arkansas, and the role the farmers of Arkansas played in the farm revolt. The grant was sought from Summer 1945 through Summer 1946 . The History training would be conducted under the supervision of Professor Avery O. Craven at the University of Chicago.
