An application from Ms. Carroll Fleming Cumbee for a fellowship in teacher education with emphasis on child growth and development. Ms. Cumbee was a research associate at the Bureau of Educational Research in the College of Education at the time, and her plan of work was to study the age levels at which racial prejudice appears by examining a Southern Negro school, a Southern White school, and a Northern school. The grant was requested from June 1945 through June 1946, with training in human development under the supervision of Dr. Robert J. Havighurst at the University of Chicago.
