Description
An application from John Beauregard Johnson, Jr. for a fellowship in Medicine. Mr. Johnson was a Part time Instrructor in Piano at the time, so he sought further training as a Hospital Pathologist (with some teaching duties), and he chose Pathology as his course of study. The training would be under the supervision of Dr. Howard T. Karsner at Western Reserve University. This application was submitted on March 20, 1936. Also included is Mr. Johnsons medical record, as well as a handwritten essay which acknowledged the problems in Pathology and how more skilled practitioners would be needed to further the field.
