Description
-
A letter of correspondence from M.O. Bousfield to Dr. A.R. Jenkins written on November 21, 1939. Mr. Bousfield mentioned that he would relay poissible placements to Dr. Jenkins. He also recalled that the Julius Rosenwald Fund (in cooperation with the United States Public Health Service) carried on widespread Syphilis demonstration in 6 Southern states in 1930. This important work would soon be done in neighboring counties, as well as a midwifery program by the State of Alabama and the Macon County Health Department. Mr. Bousfield relayed that the Julius Rosenwald Fund had already guaranteed a 3 year extension of the work, so he was willing to offer Dr. Jenkins a position given the nature of the work.
