A letter of correspondence from Floarda Hughes Howard to Dr. M.O. Bousfield written on March 12, 1940. Dr. Howard was notified by Dean Numa P.G. Adams and Dr. T.E. Jones that the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees appointed him as a fellow to begin on March 1 and expire on June 30 (this was voted on February 16). Dr. Howard was appointed as a Junior Assistant Surgeon by the Secretary of the Interior on February 28.
