The documents contain fellowship applications from Clyde Julien Winkfield for 1941, 1942, and 1948. Applied for an eighteen-month and one-year grant in 1941 and 1942, respectively, to continue serious piano study under Milton Treshansky of Chicago, along with other names mentioned and other works, and was granted 1,200 for 1941. Also reapplied in 1948 for a one-year grant in June to carry forward advanced professional study of the piano. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded and two handwritten notes evaluating the application, one stating it was not good enough for a reaward.
