An application from Theodore Wilbur Winchester in 1944. The applicant was awarded 1,800 dollars in 1943 for the Observation and study of the effect of the Railway Labor Act on minority groups, with special reference to the Negro, as it is now administered at the University of Chicago no degree sought. He was given 2,000 dollars in 1944 as a renewal for Formal training to satisfy the requirements for an expert in the field of labor economics, and for a critical study of national labor policy with respect to minority groups in the railway industry and the mass production industries. The chosen field was Economics. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded, along with a handwritten evaluative note on the applicant.
