An application from Mary Hoffman Williams in 1948, requesting a grant for the school years 1948-49 to make a bacteriological study of the etiological agents of puerperal sepsis in viginal discharges of pregnant and non-pregnant women with special reference to the improvement of maternal health, particularly that of the Negro woman. Wishes to work toward the Master of Science and Ph. D. degree in Bacteriology at the College of Medicine, New York University under the supervision of Dr. C. MacLeod. The file Includes a handwritten evaluative note on the application. It assigns a grade of B and contains a brief written assessment, including the phrase “good testimony.
