The documents contain a 1941 Scholarship Aid application requesting aid for advanced study in dramatics leading to the degree of Master in Arts at Yale University from September 1941 to June 1942. It also contains a 1942 application requesting a grant to secure a degree of Master of Fine Arts to be well prepared to work in that field among the Negro people at Yale University under Dr. Allardyce Nicoll, probably for two years. Included is a memorandum, but it doesnt contain the action of the committee, and an evaluative note that assigns a grade of B and includes a handwritten assessment on the application.
