The applicant was awarded 1,500 dollars to be used at the University of Chicago for the preparation of a dissertation, The Development of Teacher Education for Negroes in Alabama, and for the satisfaction of the examination requirements for the Ph.D. degree in the Department of Education over three distributed quarters. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded.
