Thompson, Jr., an Industrial Secretary of Atlanta Urban League, requesting a ten month grant beginning in September, to make a study of the educational, economic and social background of Negro Soilders who studuied in the Special Training Unit of Fort Benning, Georgia during World War II, leading to a Ph. D. degree at the UNiversity of Chicago under Dr. Rexford Guy Tugwell. Included is an evaluative note that assigns a grade of B and contains a brief written assessment on the application.
