Granted Application for Joseph T. Taylor
-
Description
-
A 1938 application file for Joseph T. Taylor, a teaching fellow at Fisk University. He was granted 1,400 dollars to study antisocial behavior and Negro crime while pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois later changed to the University of Indiana. The file notes that he later became an Instructor in Sociology at Florida A. and M. College. The documents include a 1939 handwritten evaluation noting he has an interesting project, suggesting he could get his doctorate degree in one more year and indicating his request for 1000 dollars was too modest for his proposed field of work.
