An application from Samuel Schiller, requesting a grant beginning September 1942. The plan of work was to translate into curriculum form for the public schools the principal research and discussion on the important problem of planning for peace in the Southeastern states, and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at Teachers College, Columbia University under either Dr. Bruner or Dr. Hopkins. This application was submitted in 1942, and the chosen field is Education. Included are handwritten notes: Very interesting, a master teacher. His Jewish background seems not to have interfered with her success illegible] and I've been for this man for two years - and still am illegible].
