The plan of work was to express contemporary Negro life by means of a series of sculpture, and to obtain a Master of Arts degree at Hampton Institute under the supervision of Dr. Viktor Lowenfeld. This application was submitted in 1945, and the chosen field is Sculpture. Included is a handwritten note: Superior references. Esp for so young an artist illegible].
