An application from Alvin Walcott Rose, requesting a grant beginning September 1946. The plan of work was to make a sociological analysis of industrial social organization - with the objective of isolating and examining relationships and ideological themes which are functions of race - and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Dr. E.C. Hughes. This application was submitted in 1946, and the chosen field is Race Relations. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Mr. Rose in 1946, as well as a handwritten note: Good man. Excellent references [illegible].
