An application from Mary Estella Robbs, requesting a grant beginning July 1947. The plan of work was to study privately with competent voice instructor. Ms. Robbs reapplied for another 1-year grant towards concentrated vocal study. These applications were submitted in 1947 and 1948, and the chosen field is Music-Singing. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Ms. Robbs in 1947, as well as a handwritten note: Just about on par with Pauline Phelps. Good but not shocking the world [illegible].
