An application from Haywood Rivers, requesting a grant beginning July 1946. The plan of work was to complete private study of the techniques of painting, while working at the Art Students League, New York under the supervision of Mr. Robert Brackman and Mr. Louis Bosa. Mr. Rivers reapplied for another grant beginning June 1948. These applications were submitted in 1946 and 1948, and the chosen field is Art-Painting. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Mr. Rivers in 1948, as well as a handwritten note: F by art jury rating.
