An application from Annie Thompson Reid, requesting a grant beginning September 1946. The plan of work was to do a research project Some Sociological Effects of the Social Security Act on the Negro Community and to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Sociology at Radcliffe College under the supervision of Dr. Talcott Parsons. Mr. Register reapplied for another grant beginning July 1947. These applications were submitted in 1946 and 1947, and the chosen field is Sociology. Included is a handwritten note: A bright youngster. Fine testimony though there is an if in most of it [illegible].
