An application from Thomas Edward Posey, requesting a grant towards training Negro and White rank and file union leaders in the economics of their industry, and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at the University of Wisconsin under the supervision of Selig Perlman and Ernest Schwarztrauber. Mr. Posey reapplied for another grant beginning September 1946. These applications were submitted in 1945 and 1946, and the chosen field is Labor. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded to Mr. Prothro across 1945 and 1946, as well as handwritten notes: Over age. Bitterman of Ohio State says [illegible], Good man in field we are concerned about [illegible], and I guess we better renew. I'm not too keen about him [illegible].
