The plan of work was to study the influence of the cooperative movement on the community life of the Negroes of North Carolina and the rural educational program being developed around this movement, while attending Catholic University, Washington D.C. under the supervision of Dr. Paul H. Furfey. This application was submitted in 1946, and the chosen field is Sociology. Included is a handwritten note: Nothing here. i gave him B- in 1941 [illegible].
