An application from Pauline Edna Phelps, requesting a grant beginning June 1947. The plan of work was to obtain a B.M. degree with major in Voice at the Julliard School of Music. Ms. Phelps reapplied for another grant beginning September 1948 towards special voice training for the concert stage and opera, under the supervision of Mrs. Smith Kimball. These applications were submitted in 1947 and 1948, and the chosen field is Music-Singing and Voice. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Ms. Phelps across 1947 and 1948, as well as a handwritten note: Miss Kimball doesn't seem all out [illegible].
