Description
An application from Marion Perkins, requesting a grant beginning June 1947. The plan of work was to carve 2 near life-size figures out of marble portraying John Henry and George Washington Carver. Mr. Perkins reapplied for a grant beginning June 1948 towards doing a series of portrait heads of children ranging ages five through twelve years old, and to obtain a B.A. degree at the Chicago School of Design. These applications were submitted in 1947 and 1948, and the chosen field is Art-Sculpture. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Mr. Perkins in 1948.
