Description
An application from Jewell R. Crawford Mazique [Mrs.], requesting a one-year grant. The plan of work was to investigate the relation of the Negro church to organized labor in Harlem, with special emphasis on the Abyssinian Baptist. This was to be done while working toward a Ph.D. degree at the New School for Social Research or New York School of Social Work. This application was submitted in 1942, and the chosen field is Sociology. Also included is a handwritten note: No letters except from the home folks which are good. I think she isn't ready....
