Granted Application for Elsie Mae Lewis
-
Description
-
A 1943, 1944, and 1945 application file for Elsie Mae Lewis, a graduate student at the University of Chicago. She was granted $1,500 in 1945 and an extension of $375 in 1946 to analyze the political history of Arkansas 1850-1860, and the Populist Movement. Handwritten notes state she's applied three years before but I still think she isn't of the distinction they want for fellowships.
