A 1939 and 1948 application file for Richard Demosthenes Kidd, a Registrar and Chairman of the Department of Business at St. Philip's Junior College. He was granted $1,950 in 1948 to conduct a comparative study of self-segregated and statute-imposed segregated Negro communities. Handwritten notes on the 1939 application comment that there was no evidence of superior ability despite a good record.
