An Application from Robert Brown Johnson, requesting a two-year grant towards concentrating on the techniques, as they are being evolved in the science of Geo-Politics, of correlating the lessons of history with the principles of political science, economics, geography, and sociology, to the end of planning intelligently the future pattern of society and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at the University of Minnesota. Mr. Johnson reapplied for another one-year grant beginning September 1948 towards writing a thesis, "Governmental Regulation of Business Enterprise in Virginia 1750-1820," while under the supervision of Professor Herbert Heaton. Included are handwritten notes.
