An application from Edward Pierce Hood, requesting a one-year grant in September 1943 to develop a new, functional science program tailored to the individual needs and abilities of youth in Southern rural communities, and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at Ohio State University under the supervision of Mr. G.P. Cahoon. Mr. Hood requested another grant to work at either Ohio State University or New York University. Included are handwritten notes.
