Description
An application from Frank Harriott, requesting a one-year grant in June 1947 to write a novel concerned with the life of a famous Negro blues singer, as she is remembered by, and has affected, three middle-class Negroes. Mr. Harriott reapplied for another six-month grant. Included are a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Mr. Harriott, and a handwritten note evaluating the application.
