An application from Frank Eppse Goodwyn, requesting a one-year grant in 1942 to do a study of Latin American Psychology on the Rio Grande border which will result in a novel with a Mexican paon in South Texas as the main character. This is to obtain a Ph.D. degree at the University of Texas under Dr. J. Frank Dobie. Mr. Goodwyn reapplied for another one-year grant in 1943 towards a study of Pedro Urdemales and obtain a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Mr. J. Frank Dobie, Mr. Henry N. Smith, and Mr. C.W. Hackett. Included are a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Mr. Goodwyn in 1942, and handwritten notes regarding the application.
