An application from James Albert Gibbs, Jr., requesting a one-year grant in 1944 to do research in Chemotherapy, a study of drugs in order to isolate, purify, analyze, and synthesize them for use by the medical profession, and to obtain a Ph.D. degree at Harvard University under Dr. Louis F. Fieser. Mr. Gibbs reapplied for another one-year grant in 1945. Also included are handwritten notes regarding the application.
